In July 2024, Birth for Humankind made a submission to The Inquiry into Women’s Pain. 

Our insights highlight the pain experiences of the women and birthing people BFH supports during pregnancy, birth and in the postnatal period. The submission articulates key issues for our client group, as well as the benefits of doula support in the reduction or management of birth-related pain and other issues.

UPDATE 9 November 2025: The Victorian Government have released The Bridging the Gender Pain Gap report, which includes recommendations to inform improved models of care and service delivery for Victorian girls and women experiencing pain.
